phat deep detroitish club tune !! two great tracks by this new german outfit as the rh-ltd series continues! berlin based pied plat started in 2006 as an electroacoustic live project inspired by the house and techno sound from detroit. growing up in karlsruhe, germany, pied plat members know each other since early childhood and still enjoy hanging around together.

this selection is based on over two decades of deep dj experiences. the impact of seeing jazz dancer, michael knot of idj, dancing to acid trax by phuture, in the back room of a pub in teddington, produced one of those seminal moments that, gilles maintains, radically changed his view of acid house. it is important to say that this is certainly not a club album as some of the predecessors in this series have been.

word we werent expecting this! this fine platter kicks off with a deft mash up of paris greys dont lead me and neurotic behaviour by psyche (carl craig) and then launches into a beefed up edit of derrick mays kaos. on the b-side is a re-edit of the kevin saunderson remix of we know it by the wee papa girl rappers. we dont know who did this and nor do we care. its a perfect party record for peak time dance floor lunacy. nothing innovative, nothing new but just adding a new twist to old classics and doing it with style. highly recommended

finally we manage to get a new ep from the man carl falk. he was the first on the label with the great hz-1 and hz-3-eps that we repressed all the time. you know what to expect and this is no exception, full on tribal-party-techno all the way. the first track is with a little acid twist. the rest is just full-on massive grooves!

this one really got the soul. a superb four tracker that reminds us to the good old chicago house times. a must have for those who know

igor tchkotoua and dan duncan are true workaholics. not only are the two mallorquinos forming one of the most exciting techno duos of our time and play in the most famous clubs worldwide, they always make it to pop up in the studio to work on their releases on sonic society, wig records or like in the case of >deliverance<, the new 12inch on cocoon. >deliverance< starts quite cautious but the track becomes more and more complex – pig & dan give the dj a tool that fits the minimal raver like a custom-made suit. the b side is again one of those tracks that put a smile on your face. in >sly detector<, atmospheric techno sound unites with energetic celebration pleasure, just as we know it from tracks like >after ibiza< or >on to the beat<. the rolling hookline which has the necessary splash of acid is, together with the floating trance layer, adrenalising to such extent that nothing else remains to be done but to raise your hands in the air. the track was already a hit with many djs in 2007, and will be one – chosen in the right moment – on many dancefloors in 2008, too
